Mn is found to be incorporated primarily in the form of non-magnetic tetragonal Ga0.82Mn0.18\u00a0nanocrystals\u00a0in Ga catalyst\u00a0droplets\u00a0at the ends of the NWs, while trace amounts of Mn (22\u2009\u00b1\u20094 at.\u2009ppm) are also distributed randomly in the NW bodies without forming clusters or precipitates. The\u00a0nanocrystals\u00a0are likely to form after switching off the reaction in the\u00a0MBE\u00a0chamber, since they are partially embedded in neck regions of the NWs.
